Independently Me!

It’s back this fall – our fantastic adult day program! This program focuses on a variety of daily living skills, community integration, and FUN for the participants. Each day is registered separately and focuses on a different set of skills and activities.
This program is designed by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.

This program is designed to assist with independence, decision-making, social skills, self-determination, community integration, and community resources.

Participation Criteria: Must have a moderate to high level of ability (no 1:1 staff provided)

  • Able to complete assigned activities and outings
  • Able to express, verbally or with a reasonable accommodation, emotions, feelings, wants, and needs while appropriately interacting with peers
  • Must display a desire to engage in leisure/recreation and volunteerism
  • New participants must successfully complete a mandatory assessment to determine eligibility

 

Social Night

This program allows the participating individuals to choose the social activity! While all activities will be done at the facility the options range from movie nights to storytelling. Participants may be dropped off at any time after 6:00 PM but must be picked up by 10:00 PM, making this a perfect program for parents looking for a night out or participants looking for a fun Friday night!

This program is designed to build social skills and self-determination.

Learn to prepare delicious tasting food with a Registered Dietitian at Hy-Vee—Sycamore in their completely accessible teaching kitchen.

This program is designed to assist with social skills, use of community resources, leisure education, an increase in recreation & life skills, and social/peer interactions.

 

T’NT – Life Skills Program

T'NTYEP

Developed by RAMP and funded through YEP (Youth Engaged in Philanthropy) grant by the DeKalb County Community Foundation, this program is for teens and young adults who are transitioning into greater independence. Program Leader: Mike Franckowiak
This program is designed to assist with social skills, use of community resources, leisure education, an increase in recreation & life skills, and social/peer interactions.
Participation Criteria— (Ages 15 and up): Must have a moderate to high level of ability (no 1:1 staff provided)

 

Kishwaukee Cadenzas

Singers and dancers unite! Kishwaukee Cadenzas are here to shine onstage, singing pop, rock, and musical theater classics. No experience necessary, just a love for music and dance!
Program Leader: Abby Mungai

This program is designed to assist with social skills, use of community resources, leisure education, an increase in recreation skills, social/peer interactions, gross motor skills, verbal skills, and new and transferable music skills.
