Caregivers Accessing Resources, Education and Support. A collaborative effort
between Kishwaukee SRA and Centennial Counseling Center! We are offering an
evening of education and camaraderie for parents and caregivers brought to you by
Nicole McDonald Martinez, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, from Centennial Counseling
Center. Topics will vary weekly with the needs of the group will include stress reduction,
behavior management, sensory tools, navigating the IEP meeting, and more. During
that time, your child can participate in a fun, goal-oriented, leisure activity with the
Kishwaukee SRA staff in a separate room.
*Light snacks will be provided.
MAY 16 – Parent’s Topic: To be decided by parents at the previous programs and upon need/request; Child’s Activity: Sports Fundamentals
Participants: This program is designed to assist with social skills, use of community resources, leisure education, an increase in recreation skills, social/peer interactions, gross motor skills, and verbal skills.
Parents/Caregivers: This program is designed to assist parents and caregivers with tools and resources, as well as peer support.
