Have you ever wanted to try riding a horse? Now, you can! KSRA is partnering up with HorsePower Therapeutic Riding in Maple Park, IL. So, come out to the barn and learn the basic skills of horseback riding and horse care for a four week lesson. This is a therapeutic horseback riding program to help you discover the enjoyment that working with horses gives you while improving on your personal skills. Additional forms/waivers may be required.
This program is designed to assist with communication, overcoming challenges, learning new skills,
connection, teamwork, and increase physical, emotional, cognitive, sensory and social growth.
•Participants must weigh under 220 pounds to ride a horse.
•Participants over 220 pound will be able to participate in all ground activities but cannot ride a horse.
•Participants will need to complete an assessment from KSRA staff upon registration to determine eligibility.
Participants will depart from the South parking lot of Hopkins Park Administration Building, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb at 9:00 AM and will return for pick up at 12:00 PM. The program will be held at HorsePower Therapeutic Riding, Fox Chase Farm 46W27276 Rt. 38, Maple Park, IL 60151.
