Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association programs are designed for children and adults with all abilities, and their families who live in our member districts.

Kishwaukee SRA provides you with INCLUSION services to participate in any park district program with the DeKalb, Flagg-RochelleGenoa Township, Sandwich, or Sycamore Park Districts.

Inclusion! What does that mean?

  1. Inclusion provides OPPORTUNITIES of all abilities to participate TOGETHER.
  2. Inclusion looks at the NEEDS, INTERESTS & ABILITIES of all people instead of focusing on their disability.
  3. Inclusion supports the process of PREPARING, LEARNING, EXPERIENCING, & GROWING with each person, family, and staff.
  4. Inclusion provides a RECREATIONAL CHOICE!

Who can use inclusion services and how does that work?

Anyone can request INCLUSION services to participate in any programs offered by their member park district agencies that support Kishwaukee SRA. Kishwaukee SRA staff is trained to assess and evaluate the participant’s needs and make recommendations which can include providing adaptive equipment, Inclusion companions, interpreters, or program modifications.

To sign up for INCLUSION in your park district programs, simply check the box on the registration form or let the staff taking your registration know that you need assistance and Kishwaukee SRA will be notified of your request.
